About the experience
City Weather combines open forecast and air quality data with an original adaptive animation system designed to make changing conditions feel calm, dimensional, and immediate.
Place suggestions come from the Open-Meteo Geocoding API. You can also grant optional browser location permission to request a forecast for your coordinates.
Conditions, pressure, visibility, UV, and forecasts come from Open-Meteo. Current US AQI readings come from its Air Quality API.
Original Canvas particles render rain, snow, fog, stars, and wind. Particle density adapts to the device, pauses in hidden tabs, and respects reduced-motion preferences.
The next 24 hours show local temperatures, conditions, and precipitation chances alongside the existing seven-day outlook.
Choose Celsius or Fahrenheit at any time. Wind and visibility automatically switch to matching metric or imperial units.
Save up to five locations for quick access. Favorite locations and your preferred unit remain only in this browser.
No account is required. Location permission is optional, coordinates are used only to request a forecast, and preferences stay on your device.
Condition names, icons, and atmospheres are derived from Open-Meteo’s WMO weather interpretation codes. Optional thunder is synthesized locally after you enable it and does not use an audio file. US AQI values are grouped from Good through Hazardous; lower values indicate cleaner air.
